The University of Geneva

Founded in 1559 by Jean Calvin, the University of Geneva (UNIGE) is dedicated to thinking, teaching, dialogue and research. With 16’000 students of more than 140 different nationalities, it is Switzerland’s second largest university.

Just like the city of Geneva itself, the university enjoys a strong international reputation, both for the quality of its research (it ranks among the top institutions among the League of European Research Universities) and the excellence of its education. The Geneva School of Economics and Management

The GSEM is a new Faculty of the University of Geneva that was created in January 2014. The Research Center for Statistics is a research institute within the GSEM. The new Faculty strives to become a leading research-oriented business school, with its 2,400 highly diverse students enrolled in several Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, and Executive Education programs in the areas of management, economics, finance, and statistics. GSEM’s more than 35 world-class professors create and disseminate cutting edge knowledge to help shaping and managing business and societal challenges. Benefitting from its unique location, GSEM has strong links with many international organizations, multinational corporations headquartered in Geneva and the financial industry.
